On Friday, June 3, 2016 the Faena Theater in Miami celebrated its grand opening with the highly anticipated world premiere for C’est Rouge!, a sensual and seductive revue set in the intimate 150-seat cabaret-style theater. Blanca Li, internationally celebrated choreographer, orchestrated a fantasyland of beauty, mystery and desire told through enthralling vignettes set to Latin American and Jazz rhythms of the C’est Rouge! band. WGY was there for all of the exciting celebrations!

Hosted by Alan Faena and Ximena Caminos, the evening was enjoyed by a definitive mix from the world of art, design, film and fashion. Revelers included Len Blavatnik, Dwyane Wade, Oribe, Inés Rivero, Romero Britto, Elsa Benitez, Bhakti Baxter, Marvin Ross Friedman & Adrienne Bon Haes, Lee Brian Schrager, Ugo & Sara Colombo, David & Christy Martin, Jonathan & Criselda Breene, Chad & Ilona Oppenheim, George Lindemann, Calyann Barnett, Miky & Leticia Grendene, Kotan Fernandez & Candela Ferro, Iran Issa Khan and Harmony Korine to name a few.

C’est Rouge! guests experienced a memorable show in an enchanting setting cloaked in the grand style of European opera houses juxtaposed with the glamour of 1950s Miami. After the show, the party continued as boldfaced names and guests alike made their way to the clandestine Saxony Bar.

Alan Faena brought together a first-class artistic team, featuring Blanca Li as Director and Choreographer and Dani Morla as Artistic Director.

The fantastical late night show is now open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays with doors opening at 9:30pm and shows starting at 10:30pm at the Faena Theater located on 32nd street and Collins Avenue. Tickets are on sale beginning at $45 and are available through www.ticketmaster.com.

The Best Honeymoon Destinations in 2016!

Planning your honeymoon but not sure where to start? To help you get underway, we’ve searched high and low for the best honeymoon destination in 2016 based on current travel trends. This year it seems more and more couples are staying further away from the traditional lazy beach days (though there are still plenty of opportunities for that), with many couples looking for more adventurous honeymoons, crafting once in a lifetime trips to countries and experiences they thought they could only dream of.  So what are you waiting for? Here are the best honeymoon destinations right now! We would love to curate the perfect honeymoon for you! Please contact WGY Lifestyle at (888)-WGY-0808 or by email at info@wgylifestyle.com and one of our life stylists will walk you and your spouse through every little detail!

Safari in Tanzania

Serengeti, Tanzania

Going on safari is the journey of a lifetime and as such would have to be one of the most memorable honeymoon destinations on offer. There are plenty of different safaris on offer in the African continent, with each country offering something a little different. For example if you’d like to see meerkats, you’ll need to head further south. If you’re most interested in seeing The Big 5, you can see these in the Kruger National Park or in East Africa – though rhino sightings are becoming more and more rare. One of my favourite safari experiences (having previously been in Kruger twice, Pilanesberg once and now Serengeti once) was my recent visit to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.

If you’re looking to splurge for a once in a lifetime experience, Singita have a number of lodges on a private reserve adjacent to Serengeti.

Best time to go: June-October for game watching; January-February for baby season

Brooke & Wills | Maldives

Maldives

As iconic as honeymoons come, the Maldives is characterised by crystal clear waters, blue sunny skies, and incredible colours at sunset. Recently my partner and I travelled to the Maldives for a week I will never forget – sun, snorkelling, amazing cuisine, swimming in the ocean right outside our water villa… you get the idea! The Maldives is however an expensive honeymoon choice, particularly in the big international resorts… so if you’re on a budget, it might pay to look elsewhere in Asia – even as close as neighbouring Sri Lanka.

For an impossibly romantic and flawless stay,  we can highly recommend Taj Exotica for your visit to the Maldives.

Best time to go: May-November, though we found March very pleasant with only a couple of light showers.

The Algarve, Portugal

With a year-round warm climate (though cold waters in winter), the Mediterranean is a much loved holiday destination for Europeans and visitors from further abroad. Although it has long been a popular beach holiday destination for the Portuguese for decades, recently the Algarve in Portugal’s south has earned itself the reputation as one of the most romantic locations in the Mediterranean, making it a great choice for honeymooners.

Villa Vita Parc are legendary in the Algarve for offering the most luxurious, authentic Portuguese experience on the coast.

Best time to go: Spring & Summer, though the Algarve is truly a year-round destination

Thalia_Tasmania

Tasmania, Australia

You might have noticed the little island below mainland Australia getting a lot of traction lately, both on this blog and in other global publications around the world. That is because until the last few years, Tasmania has remained a hidden gem and a well kept secret of those who visited previously. Well now the secret is out! Tasmania is home to fresh farm-to-table produce, pristine white sand beaches, beautiful bays to hike into and explore, as well as a gorgeous capital city, Hobart, idyllically located on the waterfront.

Saffire Freycinet is an all inclusive experience that was named the best boutique hotel in the world and while it doesn’t come cheap, the experience is second to none!

Best time to go: Early December-End February for the best of the summer sunshine

kylemore abbey ireland

Ireland

Lush greenery, rolling valleys and impressive steep cliffsides… there really is no reason not to fall in love with Ireland. An Irish road trip might not be the first idea that pops into your mind when considering a honeymoon abroad, however with incredibly friendly locals, reasonable prices and the allure of a road trip adventure, you have more than enough reasons to choose Ireland as an idyllic honeymoon away. If it is good enough for Kim and Kanye on their honeymoon, I’m sure its good enough for all of us!

To get the ideas flowing, here are 8 of the most beautiful places to visit on a road trip around Ireland.

Best time to go: Ireland is susceptible to heavy rainfall in the cooler months, so better to stick to the summer season or spring and fall for lower prices but mostly decent weather.

Arosa Kulm Spa

Arosa, Switzerland

After learning that the English royal family holidayed here on a ski trip, I figured Arosa must be something spectacular worth seeing – and right I was! Arosa is a gorgeous little ski village in the Swiss Alps, not too long a train journey from Zurich, one of Switzerland’s most scenic towns. If you’re a couple who prefer to stay active then there’s plenty of snow activities to keep you busy in the winter time, although summer is equally pleasant and a much quieter experience as the crowds have died down. Impossibly romantic and incredibly scenic – Arosa is one of Switzerland’s little known gems.

Check yourself in to the Arosa Kulm for the ultimate Swiss Alps experience.

Best time to go: There really is no bad time to visit Arosa – expect a quiet summer escape in the warmer months and an exciting ski trip in the winter with plenty of time to unwind in the spa.

Positano Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Coastal mountains, picturesque towns, island hopping by ferry… shall I go on? There is no denying that the Amalfi Coast is one of Italy’s most romantic destinations and thus most loved and visited. Honeymooners can rest assured there are favourable times to visit to escape the crowds, as long as you’re happy to sacrifice the steamy hot summer temperatures. Crowds aside, the Amalfi Coast is impossible charming, full of great seaside cuisine, and a much loved favourite by locals and visitors alike.

Check yourself in to Le Sirenuse for the ultimate honeymoon experience in the Amalfi Coast.

Best time to go: Contrary to popular belief, the best time to visit Amalfi is not in summer, as the crowds become too much to bear. The best times to visit are May-June & September-October.

Located northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia is one of the world’s most talked about honeymoon destinations; Bora Bora. This small island offers crystal clear waters with great conditions for snorkelling and diving, as well as gorgeous, pristine beaches that you thought were only real in your dreams. Its that perfect!

Best time to go: November and April are shoulder seasons with great weather and lower prices.

Place to Stay: The St. Regis Bora Bora  (Contact WGY Lifestyle for Luxury Privileges at the St. Regis Bora Bora)

Nihiwatu resort

Sumba Island, Indonesia

Right next door to Bali, just a 1 hour flight away, is as little known but large island known as Sumba, with minimal development and an incredibly authentic experience on offer. Although the island hasn’t opened up to masses of tourism yet it is only a matter of time – with the beaches much more beautiful than anywhere I have been in Bali, beautiful sunsets, and very welcome hospitality from the locals.

Nihiwatu Resort is a honeymoon haven – offering an inclusive experience so you can arrive and unwind immediately.

Best time to go: May, June & July are generally considered to be the best months to visit.

Tulum Mexico | World of Wanderlust

A resort town on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, Tulum is regarded as one of Mexico’s top spots to visit for travellers in search of great weather, beaches, and a plethora of resorts to choose from. There’s also plenty to see and do here – including a Mayan archaeological site from the 13th Century and a range of water activities to soak up the sunshine.

Provence, France

Lavender fields, sunflower fields and delicious vineyards are all key characteristics of the southeastern region of France; Province. Spring and summer are fantastic times of year to visit, however with scenery this beautiful you really can’t go too wrong year-round!

Best time to go: Contrary to popular belief, the best time to visit France is in fact outside of summer – both to beat the crowds and see more locals (many of the French take their holidays throughout August). Though if you’re looking to see the iconic lavender fields in full bloom, summer is the time to go!

Go Inside The New Flagship DSQUARED2 Boutique in Miami

Following the success of opening the flagship stores in Los Angeles and New York, Dsquared2 has recently opened up shop in Miami.

Located in the prestigious shopping center of Bal Harbour, the Dsquared2 flagship is the third U.S. store for the brand Made in Italy with Canadian Roots. Dean and Dan Caten, owners and creative directors, and Milan-based architectural firm Storage associate are behind the store’s design, which is modeled on a new Dsquared2 flagship template.

“We adore Miami, we visit there often to holiday and are inspired by the city and its people. That’s why opening our Dsquared2 store in Bal Harbour is such an important moment for us and our brand. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary. To be able to do so with our flagship in such an important luxury destination has been a long-held dream of ours”, said Dan and Dean Caten.

Unfolding over 2,000 square feet on the first floor, the store is a fluid and enveloping space. Different product categories’ displays and areas are subtly divided through architectural proportions and furnishing details.

Outside, the façade’s windows are framed with vertical inserts of lark wood which make a refined visual statement. An inspiration close to Dean and Dan Caten’s Canadian heritage, forest and nature are the underlying themes of the store’s interior. Antler decorated light fixtures featured throughout, while the dressing rooms have a colorful backdrop in illuminated imagery of verdant Canadian forests. Soft beige carpeted areas, contrasting with ochre velvet armchairs softly illuminated by floor lamps. Tall screens and vertical metal rods make spaces more intimate. Fine cage style dividers sensually disperse light onto display areas.

The Bal Harbour Flagship will carry iconic Dsquared2 collections. Both men’s and women’s ready to wear collections are joined with fragrance, eyewear, and accessories. No Dsquared2 woman would be without her towering heels, and the store also features a dedicated space to Dsquared2’s Italian-crafted covetable shoes and bags.

7 New York Fashion Week Survival Tips

Seen+Around+Lincoln+Center+Day+7+Fall+2011+wiv3vnnDYROl

New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off! Below are my Fashion Week Survival Tips. If you want to ask me any #NYFW questions (or any questions at all), tweet me @MicahJesse.

1. Pack & Carry a Survival Kit! If you’re going to be on the go, you’ll want to have some survival items ready to go such as: umbrella (snow! rain!), a pen, notepad, camera (other than your phone), deodorant, tooth brush, dry shampoo, Advil, comb, lipstick, chargers (iPhone, iPad, MacBook), etc.

2. Get as much sleep as possible! If you’re a blogger/editor/model/makeup artist or just a fashion fanatic, you may find it hard to find some time for ZzZ’s during all of the hoopla at Fashion Week. Don’t be afraid to take a night off, you party animal! You’ll really want to push for a realistic 5 hours (minimum) if you want to make it the entire week.

3. Take your vitamins! With the cold weather, lack of sleep, and consumption of alcohol and salty passed food at Fashion Week events, your body will inevitably lose steam… You’ll want to start your day by taking a multi, Vitamin C and D at the very least to keep your body in tip top shape.

4. Moisturize! Moisturize your face and lips because the central air in the tents and many of the venues will dry you out like the desert. Bring a bottle of Mario Badescu or your favorite skin care product in your bag.

5. Charge your devices the night before! Make sure your phone, iPad, MacBook, etc. are all charged up for the long day and night. Bring a charger or a Mophie case for extra support.

6. Make A Schedule! With so many events around town, you’ll want to make sure your schedule is on point so you’re not (fashionably) late. Spend a few days leading up to Fashion Week plugging all your dates, times and venues into your Google calendar. This will help ensure you don’t forget about your commitments or double book.

7. Your network is your net worth! You never know who you’ll be sitting next to at a runway show or bumping shoulders with at an after party. Say hello to everyone. Hand out your business cards. Send a follow up greeting.
