We just returned from a fantastic & magical trip to the St. Regis Bora Bora. All we have to say is WOW. This destination is like none other and likely one of the most romantic & stunning places we have ever been. Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Surrounded by sand-fringed motus (islets) and a turquoise lagoon protected by a coral reef, it’s known for its scuba diving. It’s also a popular luxury resort destination where some guest bungalows are perched over the water on stilts. At the island’s center rises 727m Mt. Otemanu, a dormant volcano.

In addition, the Royal Overwater Villas are the Resort’s most luxurious accommodations overwater with 2 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms, a spacious terrace with double Gazebos around large pool suspended over the lagoon and spectacular mountain views.
As far as the restaurants on site, we couldn’t pick which was our favorite, the food was divine! Set over the lagoon with glass panels to best enjoy the waters lit up from beneath, Lagoon by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the Resort’s gourmet restaurant, delectably uses the finest ingredients to fuse European and Asian cuisines. Located in the Lagoon by Jean-Georges Restaurant, Lagoon Bar is ideally located to enjoy the breathtaking sunset views behind Mt Otemanu while savouring one of Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s cocktail creations. If you are a Sushi lover like us, the bounty of seafood fresh-caught daily from the Pacific Ocean is delicately prepared by the Sushi Chef at Sushi Take Restaurant, which also offers the most extensive Sake list in French Polynesia. The Italian restaurant on site was an unforgettable experience. With a subtle interpretation of comfort food executed with gastronomic flair, Far Niente Ristorante pays delicious hommage to Italy’s distinctive fare. High quality imported and local produce is the foundation of an aromatic menu accompanied by regional wines specially curated by the sommelier.
The resorts main restaurant is designed without walls to provide the most open views of the sparkling lagoon, the Resort’s main restaurant, Te Pahu, is open daily for Breakfast & A la Carte Lunch & Dinner. From Tahitian Vanilla whipped cream to chilli-accented “Poisson Cru”, Te Pahu serves a mouth-watering selection of local ingredients prepared with traditional French techniques. Te Pahu presents a buffet dinner once a week: The Polynesian Evening every Wednesday ending with traditional Tamure dancing.
French Polynesia’s scents, sounds, colours and tastes are on show at Te Pahu Restaurant every Wednesday night with a beautiful buffet inspired by the celebratory Polynesian feast followed by a traditional Tahitian Tamure dance show.
