WGY was there for all of the exciting celebrations!

Revelers included Len Blavatnik, Dwyane Wade, Oribe, Inés Rivero, Romero Britto, Elsa Benitez, Bhakti Baxter, Marvin Ross Friedman & Adrienne Bon Haes, Lee Brian Schrager, Ugo & Sara Colombo, David & Christy Martin, Jonathan & Criselda Breene, Chad & Ilona Oppenheim, George Lindemann, Calyann Barnett, Miky & Leticia Grendene, Kotan Fernandez & Candela Ferro, Iran Issa Khan and Harmony Korine to name a few.

A FEW DO’S AND DON’TS

  • DO plan in advance how you’re going to get there. There are plenty of cabs/ubers within the Miami Dade Area. Depending where you are coming from, know transportation should vary between $20-$60.
  • DON’T adventure yourself into the festival without any knowledge of where and how to get there. Would you go into the jungle without any plans first? Well the same logic goes here.
  • DO stay hydrated and wear sunscreen. The sun is hot and it is unforgiving. You may not realize it, but stand out there too long and you’ll pay for it later on
  • DON’T spend the entire festival with your phone out. Sure the videos and pictures will be awesome. But live for the moment! You’ll be surrounded by people from all across the globe along some of the most famous DJs in the industry, so enjoy your time! You can always re-live the experience through your memories.
  • DO have the best time of your life!!

Have fun & Be safe

Luxury for Less in Barcelona

image1.tumblr_mpiqzzaJjO1r2doe0o1_1280

For most people, traveling in style across Europe is just a pipe dream, and because of that, many travelers never get to indulge in the extravagance of the high life. In Barcelona however, opulence isn’t limited to the wealthy, as travel writer Sònia Graupera explains to one of National Geographic’s correspondents: “[hotel prices in the city] are still very reasonable, compared to Paris, London, or Milan.”

In the past few years, international chains have expanded in Spain’s second largest city, which worries many budget travelers as boutique hotels have probably upped their costs now that Barcelona is drawing in a higher-earning clientele. But from Sònia’s experience from writing travel pieces about the city, she assures that the family-owned boutique hotels have maintained their affordable pricing.

One of these boutique hotels is the futuristic looking Room Mate Emma, which have decently priced rooms as well as suites with with private terraces. Not too far off from this hotel’s area is The5Rooms, with each of its rooms designed with a different feel. Perhaps the coziest room they have is one that is decked out with bare brick wall and romantic lighting.

For nightlife, travelers will probably check out the city’s bars and clubs, however hopping from place to place in the nightclub district could end disastrously with you spending more than you planned. An alternative to a fancy night out without blowing your savings is by heading over to Casino Barcelona, one of Europe’s finest gambling facilities designed by architect Frank Gehry.

image3.1320952658915

The casino boasts one of the most stunning views of the Mediterraean, and invites all kinds of gamblers to take advantage of their extensive selection of games. These days, many choose to play their casino games online, as many portals are able to provide a bigger selection of games. Gala Casino, in fact, releases new games every week, giving a choice of nearly 400 games that are playable across a variety of devices. While they can’t hope to have the same diversity and variety of games, land-based casinos still uphold a certain kind of elegance and luxury that people still find appealing. Hence why Casino Barcelona is still one of the most revered gaming spots in the world.

After trying your luck at the regular cash games, head over to one of many establishments surrounding the casino and have a cocktail while listening to some live music. The selection of bars and restaurants saves you from having to pay for cab fares between bars and separate entrance fees.

With the diversity of accommodations and entertainment hubs offered, Barcelona makes it possible for you travel luxuriously without spending a fortune.

Devoted five-star diners will note that only one restaurant in La Liste’s top 10 can be found on the current leading ranking of top restaurants, the World’s 50 Best list. And there’s good reason. No French restaurant has broken into the top 10 of that list, sponsored by water-maker San Pellegrino, in the last four years. La Liste featured three French restaurants in its top ten. France’s exclusion from the upper rungs of the World’s 50 Best has angered leading French cultural figures proud of their country’s culinary tradition. Partly in response to this disappointment, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius launched the new initiative to promote French tourism and fine dining.

“The angle was not to promote French [restaurants] per se,” says La Liste’s Antoine Ribaut, “but to be objective, because we trust we have the good fine dining.” Ribaut says the World’s 50 Best list is not objective. Several media outlets have pointed out that the lack of transparency does raise questions about how that list, sponsored by San Pellegrino, is decided. (Ribaut has consulted for Time Inc. His father Jean-Claude, the long-time food critic for Le Monde, contributed to the project.)

“Given that this list is based on personal experiences it can never be definitive, but we believe it is an honourable survey of current tastes and a credible indicator of the best places to eat around the globe,” the World’s 50 Best says on the organization’s web site.

“The thing with 50 Best is that the French were underrepresented, for sure,” Antoine Ribaut says, “but the reason why they were underrepresented was because there was a murky financial pressure for restaurants.” The funding for La Liste, it should be noted, came largely from private French cultural institutions. Swiss food giant Nestle is also a supporter.

Unlike the World’s 50 Best list, which is drawn from private surveys of chefs and those who frequent leading restaurants, La Liste is sourced from publicly available data, aggregating scores from 200 food guides and online review sites to produce what it hopes will be seen as an accurate, unbiased report of the best in the world.

The ranking is based on scores and reviews from a wide range of international sources: Michelin stars, yes, but also New York Times and Washington Post reviews, Zagat and Yelp ratings, Forbes and AAA travel guides and James Beard awards in the U.S., plus the cultural equivalents of these institutions in other countries (with help from foreign advisers).

Ribaut and his team then created an algorithm to assign these scores a value on a scale of 100; food factored in as 80% of the score, while ambiance, décor and wine combined factored in as 20%. If there was a positive review that didn’t include a numeric score, Ribaut counted it as a small bonus.

ST-REGIS-SHOOTING_25

We just returned from a fantastic & magical trip to the St. Regis Bora Bora. All we have to say is WOW. This destination is like none other and likely one of the most romantic & stunning places we have ever been. Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Surrounded by sand-fringed motus (islets) and a turquoise lagoon protected by a coral reef, it’s known for its scuba diving. It’s also a popular luxury resort destination where some guest bungalows are perched over the water on stilts. At the island’s center rises 727m Mt. Otemanu, a dormant volcano.

Bora Bora is much easier to get to than you may think. The destination is only 2 hours further flying time than Hawaii. To get to Bora Bora, you fly from Los Angeles with Air Tahiti Nui or Air France. It’s an 8 hour flight to Tahiti Faa’a International Airport. Fly Air Tahiti between Tahiti and Bora Bora (40 Minutes). The Bora Bora Airport is located on an islet and is absolutely beautiful. The St. Regis boat picks you up at the airport and will take you directly to the resort for check-in.

Everyone’s dream is to stay in an overwater Bungalow and Bora Bora is where this concept all began. There are a few accommodation options. Overwater, Superior Overwater & Deluxe Overwater Villas share the same suite configuration including a separate bedroom and lounge, a large bathroom and a private terrace with gazebo. Overwaters & Superior Overwaters face the Resort’s tranquil interior bay waters with the Superior Overwaters being further out from the Main Beach. Deluxe Overwaters look towards the main island with sunset views. Premier Overwater Villas offer a larger lounge with an alcove for extra guests and the added indulgence of a whirlpool on the terrace facing the stunning Mt Otemanu. In addition, the Royal Overwater Villas are the Resort’s most luxurious accommodations overwater with 2 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms, a spacious terrace with double Gazebos around large pool suspended over the lagoon and spectacular mountain views.  Picture5Picture2 Picture3

As far as the restaurants on site, we couldn’t pick which was our favorite, the food was divine! Set over the lagoon with glass panels to best enjoy the waters lit up from beneath, Lagoon by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the Resort’s gourmet restaurant, delectably uses the finest ingredients to fuse European and Asian cuisines. Located in the Lagoon by Jean-Georges Restaurant, Lagoon Bar is ideally located to enjoy the breathtaking sunset views behind Mt Otemanu while savouring one of Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s cocktail creations. If you are a Sushi lover like us, the bounty of seafood fresh-caught daily from the Pacific Ocean is delicately prepared by the Sushi Chef at Sushi Take Restaurant, which also offers the most extensive Sake list in French Polynesia. The Italian restaurant on site was an unforgettable experience. With a subtle interpretation of comfort food executed with gastronomic flair, Far Niente Ristorante pays delicious hommage to Italy’s distinctive fare. High quality imported and local produce is the foundation of an aromatic menu accompanied by regional wines specially curated by the sommelier.

The resorts main restaurant is designed without walls to provide the most open views of the sparkling lagoon, the Resort’s main restaurant, Te Pahu, is open daily for Breakfast & A la Carte Lunch & Dinner. From Tahitian Vanilla whipped cream to chilli-accented “Poisson Cru”, Te Pahu serves a mouth-watering selection of local ingredients prepared with traditional French techniques. Te Pahu presents a buffet dinner once a week: The Polynesian Evening every Wednesday ending with traditional Tamure dancing.

French Polynesia’s scents, sounds, colours and tastes are on show at Te Pahu Restaurant every Wednesday night with a beautiful buffet inspired by the celebratory Polynesian feast followed by a traditional Tahitian Tamure dance show.

Need some relaxation? Miri Miri Spa by CLARINS is located on its own private island within the Resort’s serene Lagoonarium. This ethereal haven is open to guests for free access to its more intimate beach as well as Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steamroom facilities. Miri Miri Spa by CLARINS specialises in healing plant-based treatments including skin specific facials and massages. Several other massage techniques are available such as the soothing Polynesian Taurumi and deep tissue Balinese. Beauty treatments and balneotherapy complete the Spa’s soul cleansing menu.

Paris & Nicky Hilton Had the Ultimate Bachelorette Weekend & Party at Wall Miami Presented by Belvedere Vodka

Wall Miami and Belvedere Vodka hosted the ultimate bachelorette party this past weekend for Nicky Hilton with sounds provided by her sister Paris Hilton.

The two checked in for the weekend at 1 Hotel South beach. They spent the day relaxing and traveling by boat on a custom 55′ Van Dutch yacht to enjoy a seafood lunch at Seaspice on the Miami River before arriving at Wall at Midnight.

Looking as “Hot” as ever Paris wore a pink lace number accessorized with pink florets cat ears  and the belle of the hour Nicky, who will be getting married at the royal Kensington Palace in London rocked a gorgeous Grecian style one shoulder dress and tiara.

Paris took to the DJ booth at 1AM playing the top EDM hits of the moment and to everyone’s surprise announced the first listen of her brand new single “High Off My Love” to the delight of all club goers.

Having so much fun, Paris took to the mic introducing and inviting Nicky and all the bridesmaids into the DJ booth as they all drank Belvedere Vodka cocktails and champagne.
